Job Title: Lead Civil Structural Engineer Location: Brentford Contract Type: 12-Month Contract Key Responsibilities: As the Lead Civil Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful project delivery. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing civil and structural engineering services to meet client specifications, ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are fulfilled within the project timeline and budget. Overseeing the civil engineering aspects of the project, including design, planning, and execution phases. Participating in project meetings, preparing progress reports, and adhering to established checking and quality control procedures. Ensuring project scope is clear, and all changes comply with established change management processes. Providing expert advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. This includes reviewing requisitions, conducting technical bid evaluations, and overseeing purchase order preparation. Acting as the civil engineering lead on assigned projects, managing the overall project requirements and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes. Delegating tasks effectively within the team, promoting workshare opportunities where appropriate, and ensuring timely task completion. Resolving technical discrepancies and proactively addressing any issues between the client and other project stakeholders. Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments, technological innovations, and best practices in civil engineering. Supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the team, fostering their professional growth and development. Communicating effectively with project stakeholders, ensuring the engineering team is aligned with project objectives. Identifying project challenges, developing innovative solutions, and seeking assistance when required to maintain project progress. Qualifications and Experience: The ideal candidate will possess: Strong technical and practical civil engineering expertise, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality and accurate results. Extensive knowledge of the core principles of civil and structural engineering, with a basic understanding of related engineering disciplines. In-depth knowledge of local and international civil engineering standards, along with statutory and regulatory specifications. Proficiency in civil engineering-specific software and the MS Office Suite. Significant experience in civil engineering, particularly within the energy, oil and gas, or similar industries, with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and projects. Essential Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related discipline). Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status. Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, project management, or related supervisory qualifications.
