The opportunity
We're hiring a Data Quality Manager to join our Data Excellence team on a full time, permanent basis in either Leeds or London location. In this role, you'll help focus on resolving complex and persisting legacy data issues which are risky and expensive to work around (usually via adjustments).
Your new role
You'll drive data excellence across all business functions and systems, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability. This role leads the implementation of a fast-response, cost-effective data quality framework while acting as the central coordination point for data governance.
Collaborating with Data Owners and Stewards, the Data Quality Manager will monitor KPIs for continuous data improvement, ensuring timeliness, validity, and uniqueness across the organization. Key focus areas include data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, harmonization, and seamless data integration to elevate overall data stewardship.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead the team on the implementation, maintenance, enhancement and adoption of Ataccama, a cloud-based data quality platform.
2. Lead the design and oversee development of the Data Excellence dashboard; presenting information about Data Quality results and issue management, DQ Exception Reports, Data Governance, Solvency II, User Defined Applications & Data Waivers.
3. Lead alignment of data adjustments forums into Data Excellence framework and lead these activities going forward.
4. Improve governance of Exception Reporting across the organisation, including the migration of Data Flux reports into Ataccama.
5. Engage Data Owners and Stewards community and other IT and business stakeholders to define business impact of poor data quality in terms of cost, revenue and risk implications.
6. Monitor compliance with data quality targets and escalate non-compliance to EO Data Council.
7. Establish clear accountability and roles and responsibilities for key teams involved in data quality management across the organisation.
8. Manage and enhance the relationships between the cross functional data quality teams and key business stakeholders to ensure data quality governance is compliant with Solvency II requirements and best practice.
9. Drive root cause analysis on complex data quality issues to provide recommendations for remediation and identify quick wins.
10. Develop and manage data quality remediation activities resulting from data quality rules.
11. Lead development and execution of the DQ strategy and operating model.
12. Provide leadership and direction to the QBE governance of data.
13. Develop and support various working groups to support implementation and rollout of relevant data management capabilities.
About you
We're looking for an experienced Data Manager to join an Agile organisation where you'll be responsible for developing a data quality strategy and embedding data capabilities for your team. Your strong foundation in data, communication skills and ability to engage and work with stakeholders will ensure success in this role.
Other skills you'll need:
1. Have experience in leading data quality programmes and driving transformation through effective change management practices to ensure the organisational maturity of data literacy and data quality management and best practices.
2. Knowledge of best industry practices and Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK).
3. Ability to communicate to and influence stakeholders, both technical and non-technical across different business areas and levels within the organisation.
4. Knowledge of Ataccama, or other DQ software.
5. Data profiling to identify data quality issues.
6. Experience of data analysis, data cleansing routines and root-cause analysis.
7. Data quality management processes.
8. Business requirements definitions and management.
9. Risk management.
10. People management.
