Qualified Social Worker - Children’s Services
Location: Canterbury, South-East England
Myn is recruiting for a dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our long-term client in the South-East of England. This is an exciting opportunity to work within Specialist Children’s Services in Canterbury.
Role Overview
As a Social Worker, you’ll manage a varied caseload of children and families, delivering assessments, planning, and interventions to promote the welfare of children. Your work will make a tangible difference to the lives of vulnerable children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a caseload of diverse complexity, conducting assessments, reviews, and creating welfare plans.
- Collaborate with statutory agencies, voluntary organisations, carers, and families to achieve positive outcomes.
- Attend court as required, preparing high-quality reports.
- Keep accurate, timely records in line with organisational systems.
- Maintain and update knowledge of legislation, local policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to team development and support less experienced colleagues when needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent (DipSW, CQSW).
- Registration with the SWE
- Completed ASYE programme (if more than two years post-qualification).
- Relevant experience managing Children & Families caseloads, including systemic models such as Signs of Safety.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and professionals.
Ability to undertake high-quality assessments and write clear, detailed reports.
Knowledge of legislation and frameworks, including child protection, fostering, adoption, and attachment theory.
Computer literacy and the ability to use electronic recording systems.
Emotional resilience and a commitment to reflective practice.
