Role Purpose: As an Applications Engineer, you will focus on the design, build, and maintain of applications for mission critical mobile and embedded devices. What you will be doing: As an Applications Engineer your role will be to design and build maintainable mobile applications with a heavy focus on Android and Linux platforms, ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Actively collaborate with product managers and/or customer teams to define, design, build and deploy new features while working with full stack developers to integrate applications and with UI/UX developers to promote ease-of-use and enhance the visual appeal of applications. What experience you'll have: • Experience of Android applications development; • Strong knowledge of multiple programming languages, including Java, Python, C/C++, C#, Dart, Kotlin, or Rust; • Proficient in databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, MariaDB, and SQLite; • Experience using Android Studio and Android SDK; • Solid understanding of the complete Android development life cycle; • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, Mercurial or SVN; • Familiarity with continuous integration; and strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Skills and Attributes you'll have: • Experience of Linux, Android applications development; • Proficient with Git and Subversion source control • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning; • Good understanding of restful APIs to connect with Android applications; and • Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools such as Instruments and Shark.
