What you will be doing
The ADR cell encompasses a range of manual machines manufacturing components for seal assemblies and spares. This position is in the ADR area using grinding machines, milling machines, turning machines, and lapping machines and would encompass the machining of materials such as Inconel, stainless steels, carbon, and composites.
Business demand will drive the required manpower and skills at any given time when instruction will be given for duties to be carried out. Flexibility is key for this position with a wide variety of duties to be carried out in a safe and accurate manner working to our OTIF target.
As a machinist, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
1. Operating drilling machines
2. Operating lapping machines
3. Working to tight tolerances and using a variety of measuring equipment
4. Working with engineering drawings and processes
5. Communicating with all ops teams to ensure proactive actions are taken to meet OTIF
6. Continuous improvement relating to processes and procedures
7. Carrying out all duties in a safe manner following H&S safety procedures
8. Any other duties that may be required
To be successful in this role we expect you to have/be:
1. Experience of working in a tool room environment
2. Assembly and fitting experience
3. Experience in an engineering environment
4. Mechanical/assembly aptitude
5. Ability to communicate effectively within a small team
