Baildon Town Council (BTC) is an active local council seeking to appoint a forward-thinking, highly motivated and enthusiastic person to take on the management of Bracken Hall Countryside Centre.
The Countryside Centre is situated in the stunning and important location of Shipley Glen and Baildon Moor. The Centre provides diverse opportunities for the community and visitors to enjoy and learn about the rich local heritage and the environment. The Town Council is looking for an individual who will take forward the vision to develop the Centre as a ‘jewel in the crown’ for Baildon and the District.
The post is full time (37 hours) per week with flexibility built around some requirements for weekend and evening working.
Salary is in accordance with National Joint Council recommendations (NJC scale 9-19, £26,409 - £31,067). Duties will include:
1. Creating a Business Plan to maximise the potential of the Countryside Centre.
2. Being responsible for its day-to-day management and development.
3. Helping recruit volunteers to assist in the running of the Centre.
4. Providing learning experiences.
5. Protecting the local environment.
6. Creating exhibitions and hosting events.
The appointment will be subject to acceptable references and a DBS check conducted by BTC.
