Role overview:
This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy, and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. We're looking for a manager with the experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
2. Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
3. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
4. Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.
5. Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
6. Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
7. Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
8. Ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
9. Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard. Manage the weekly banking process so that wastage and variance is minimal, maximising profit.
10. Ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.
11. Deliver outstanding member service.
12. Create an environment where the team enjoys themselves while at work.
13. Always be an ambassador of JD Gyms.
Skills and Experience:
1. Must have a proven and successful track record of management experience within a leisure-related industry.
2. Must be passionate about customer service and be an inspirational leader in the way they manage.
3. Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
4. Must have a proven track record in driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity as well as of recruiting and managing a successful team.
5. Ideally will have experience as an Assistant Manager helping to oversee all business areas within a leisure facility or have substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or other similar operational function.
