Job responsibilities Undertake home visits to assess and vaccinate eligible babies at the age of 4 weeks and 12 months old within a locality according to the Pathway and obtain the dried blood spot (DBS) test ( at 12 months old). Advise parents accordingly on pre-requisites of giving Hepatitis B immunisation and contra-indications, Contribute to the identification and protection of children at risk of abuse and act in accordance with the local Safeguarding Childrens Board guidelines. Maintain statutory & mandatory training records (BLS, Anaphylaxis and Immunisation). Provide support, mentorship, guidance and supervision to junior staff members Promote and facilitate collaborative working effectively with parents, carers and families of eligible children and with all stakeholders to provide a coordinated service for the community. Maintain legible, contemporaneous records, safeguarding confidentiality Comply with all relevant regulations organisational and national guidance and VUK policy documents. Participate in clinical governance activities in accordance with VUK policies and procedures for best practice. Provide advice and support (including signposting where appropriate) on other missed or overdue childhood vaccinations for any eligible baby on the Pathway. Escalate issues, risks / clinical incidents to management which arise i.e. contract compliance, service delivery and client safety.
