Rotational Band Pharmacist Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle (band 6/7 progression post plus EDC)

Applications are invited from pharmacists looking for a new challenge, or those qualifying this year to join our band 6 to 7 pharmacist team.
Our well-established rotational pharmacist foundation training programme will give you the support you need as you begin your career journey in hospital pharmacy.
You will join the newly qualified pharmacist training programme on starting with us.
You will gain a broad wealth of experience in a variety of clinical settings including emergency admissions, respiratory disease, cardiology, stroke, cancer services, surgery as well as dispensary and aseptic services.
You will be supported by an advanced specialist pharmacist in each rotation.
You will progress to a band 7 post following an appropriate training period and competency assessment which will include studying for a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy practice.
There will be the opportunity to study for a prescribing qualification or other postgraduate qualifications as necessary.
Main duties of the job
You will gain a broad wealth of experience in a variety of clinical settings including emergency admissions, respiratory disease, cardiology, stroke, cancer services, surgery as well as dispensary and aseptic services.
You will be supported by advanced specialist pharmacists in each rotation as well as benefiting from foundation level training. Our rotational pharmacists are also studying for diploma qualifications in clinical pharmacy practice.
We also provide a clinical and dispensary service 7 days per week and an on call service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MPharm or equivalent
* Registration with The General Pharmaceutical Council
* Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent.
* Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience of Hospital pharmacy work
Knowledge
* Broad clinical / pharmaceutical knowledge.
* Current issues within pharmacy & the NHS
* Use of Microsoft Office & internet.
* Spreadsheet & database packages.
* Highly developed communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to communicate complex information effectively.
* Excellent analytical skills, with ability to make judgements on conflicting data using critical appraisal.
