Senior Payroll and Pensions Administrator
Are you an experienced Payroll and Pensions Administrator looking for a rewarding role in the charity sector? Prospect Hospice is seeking a meticulous and proactive professional to manage payroll and pension administration for our dedicated staff. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your payroll expertise while making a meaningful impact.
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (3 days per week or can be worked flexibly across the week for the right candidate)
What is the role?
As a Senior Payroll and Pensions Administrator, you will manage payroll processes for approximately 200 employees and bank staff, ensuring accurate and timely payments. The payroll function is managed through a bureau, this means that you will be the liaison between the bureau and staff. Responsibilities will include:
* Payroll Processing – Processing timesheets, expenses, and variable pay-run data
* Salary & Deductions – Handling part-month payments, starters, leavers, and reconciliations
* Payroll Compliance – In accordance with statutory/HMRC guidelines
* Pension Administration – Manage auto-enrolment and day to day pensions administration for the NHS & Royal London pension schemes, within scheme rules
* HR Support – Supporting payroll-related projects and initiatives
In addition, you will be the first point of contact for staff and third-party organisations for all pay and pensions related issues. As part of a small HR team, there will be opportunities for you to be involved with projects and initiatives in addition to managing payroll.
What we are looking for:
* Proven payroll experience (in-house or payroll bureau)
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work to deadlines with a problem-solving mindset
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Good MS Excel skills and proficiency in reconciliation processes
* Plenty of initiative and a pro-active approach.
It would also be great if you have:
* Experience of the NHS/other defined benefit pension schemes is desirable but not essential.
