Role: 1:1 Post-16 Learning Mentor
Location: Plymouth
Contract: Part-time, permanent
Working Hours: Monday - Wednesday, 09:30 - 16:30
Salary: £100 - £120 per day (depending on experience and working hours)
Are you passionate about supporting young people as they transition into adulthood? Do you want to make a real difference in a one-to-one mentoring role, helping students with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) build independence and essential life skills?
Long-term Teachers are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Post-16 Learning Mentor to work part-time with students who require additional support. This is a rewarding opportunity to guide young people in real-world settings, helping them gain confidence, develop practical skills and achieve their personal goals.
Your role as a 1:1 Learning Mentor:
* Provide tailored one-to-one support to help students develop essential life skills
* Deliver engaging, personalised learning activities in line with their EHCP
* Monitor progress, celebrate achievements and build students’ confidence
* Travel with students to community-based locations (e.g libraries, workplaces, leisure centres) for hands-on learning experiences
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a compassionate and motivated individual with:
* Experience working with young people in the UK (essential)
* SEN Knowledge - experience supporting individuals with additional needs is highly desirable
* Flexibility & adaptability - every day is different, and you’ll need to tailor support to each student
* Excellent communication skills - able to engage and inspire students
* Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and business insurance (essential for off-site learning activities)
