Job summary Outpatient Network is currently seeking Dietitians with Tier 3 Bariatric experience to join our Bariatric services across Derby & Burton NHS FT. Main duties of the job Dietitian Tier 3 Bariatric Service Role Overview: The Dietitian will play a key role in delivering first attendance consultations to patients referred to the Tier 3 bariatric service. The role involves assessing patients nutritional status, developing individualized care plans, and providing dietary interventions to support patients in managing obesity and preparing for potential bariatric surgery. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments during first appointments, including reviewing medical history, dietary habits, and lifestyle factors. Develop personalized dietary care plans that are realistic and tailored to the patient's needs, supporting weight management and improving overall health. Educate and counsel patients on dietary strategies to manage obesity, including portion control, nutritional intake, and behavior modification. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., psychologists, bariatric surgeons, nurses) to provide holistic care for patients. Monitor patient progress through follow-up assessments, adjusting dietary plans as necessary to meet ongoing health and nutritional goals. Provide pre- and post-operative nutritional support to patients undergoing bariatric surgery, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines.
