EPUT is looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Specialty Doctor who will provide consistent, high quality Medical input support to the Peter Bruff, Assessment Unit team in Colchester. The service provides a 17-bedded mixed gender unit catering to patients from North East Essex and Mid Essex who require informal admission.
The post holder will have shared responsibility for the clinical care of those patients referred to the team and will be expected to work closely with the consultant and team manager to ensure the provision of an effective service. Patients attend gatekeeping assessment from the home treatment team, and if the assessment identifies that a patient needs an informal hospital admission, they are admitted to the Peter Bruff assessment unit.
You should be eligible for full registration with the GMC at the time of appointment and hold Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983. You will also need to provide evidence of achievement of ST1/CT1 competences in psychiatry at the time of application and likelihood of achieving CT2 competences in psychiatry by the start date of the post.

Responsibilities
* Attend Ward reviews every day
* Attend MDT meeting every day
* Carry out Ward review when one of the Consultants is away
* Admit patients during working hours
* Attend to urgent clinical issues for patients on the ward
* Dictate and check Discharge summaries for patients
* Perform administrative work related to these activities
* Support Trainee Doctors
* Work with Multidisciplinary team
* Attend the weekly regular supervision with the consultant
