Are you someone with an eye for detail and a passion for excellent customer service?
Have you previously worked in a Payroll or HR administration setting?
If yes, then we have the role for you!
We are looking to recruit 2 Payroll Assistants to join our busy Payroll team. Within this role, you will be supporting colleagues in delivering an accurate personnel and payroll service paying approximately 15,000 employees on a monthly basis, across 20 employers affiliated to the County Council.
We have 2 temporary positions available to provide maternity leave cover. One position is for a period of 9 months and the other for 12 months.
Our offices are based in Lewes, and after your initial training, there will be the opportunity to work from home or another ESCC site some days a week as we work in a Hybrid working style (1 day a week in the office and 4 days working from home).
We are looking for candidates who:
1. Demonstrate communication skills, as these are essential for responding to queries from a variety of customers.
2. Are well organised and have an ability to prioritise tasks to deal with conflicting demands.
3. Have numeracy skills.
4. Have some experience of working in a transactional office environment.
Understanding the cyclical nature of payroll processing would be an advantage, but if you are able to prioritise a busy workload to ensure that deadlines are met, are keen to learn, and have an interest in Payroll or Finance, those will stand you in good stead for the role.

Interviews will take place via Microsoft Teams and will be scheduled at a convenient time during March.
