We are looking for a talented individual to join our team in a dual Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) and Training role. Work type: Professional Support Lawyer: Manage and maintain the Employment Team Knowledge Library and Precedents Stay up to date with legal developments and best practices, ensuring the team’s knowledge library and documents are current and comprehensive Regularly review the need for new or updated documents Identify gaps in the team’s precedents, propose new ones as needed, and take the lead in creating them Monitor legal developments in employment law and update and train the team regularly Co-ordinate internal team training and organise training sessions with external providers Conduct legal research as required Training: Co-ordinate client training, devise training courses and produce training materials for bespoke client training including notes for presenters on employment law matters Present training for clients and targets and devise and conduct public training courses as required In conjunction with the Partners, develop sales strategy for training products for the Employment Team Actively identify opportunities to sell training products and proactively anticipate and devise appropriate new training courses based on new legislation/ opportunities In conjunction with the Partners, co-ordinate the webinar program and prepare and host webinars/ podcasts and materials, including presenting webinars on employment law issues Prepare and co-ordinate online newsletters for the Employment Team Prepare quarterly update as required for clients and prospects on employment law Horizon scan and update team on matters relevant to sectors in which clients operate Experience/ Attributes required: Ability to work unsupervised Supports strategic direction of the firm Excellent business development and marketing skills Excellent attention to detail Confident and excellent presentation skills Ability to explain complex matters clearly and credibly to external stakeholders Be able to research and apply knowledge to work in progress Excellent verbal and written communication skills Responsibilities & tasks: To maintain and develop business relationships with clients To promote the team’s services and identify opportunities to sell these and training products To keep up to date with current literature, publications and circulars and bring to the attention of other members of your team relevant news and developments Ensure file management, and administration are kept up to date To work effectively on your own and in a team To work in excess of normal working hours where it proves necessary, in the interests of the Firm or those of our clients Liaise with and develop relationships with external consultants and professional experts in accordance with the team’s requirements Meet with and train clients including leadership teams, HR, manager, in house legal teams and client staff – at the firm’s offices or their offices and/or remotely Craft training materials and PSL documents for the Employment Team Keep up to date with your own team’s and the firm’s developments and advise clients/contacts accordingly wherever appropriate to promote other practice teams in the firm Wherever possible assist with practice development events organised by the team and the firm Benefits: 25 days holiday Pension scheme Life Assurance 5 x final salary Private medical insurance Flexible Hybrid working An additional days holiday for your birthday A weekly wellbeing hour 8 hour per annum charity work Cycle to work scheme Bring your dog to work Social committee events Season ticket travel loan Eligible to purchase an additional five days holiday Team structure: 3 x Partners 1 x Head of Immigration 2 x Senior Associate Solicitors 1 x Associate Solicitor 3 x Solicitor 1 x Chartered legal executive 2 x Paralegals 4 x Secretaries
