Adecco's Property services specialist division North is delighted to be partnering with a Northeast Housing provider to recruit for a Health and Safety assistant to work off their offices based in Sunderland area.
Purpose
this role you will provide efficient and effective support to the Health, Safety, Risk and Assurance Team.
The role will involve managing and analysing various data and statistics and generating associated reports, monitoring the progress of actions raised by the Health and Safety Team, administering, and overseeing the issue and use of lone worker devices and assisting the Health and Safety Team in managing the hand arm vibration monitoring programme.
Duties
* Supporting the Health, Safety, Risk and Assurance Team in the implementation of the Group's management systems for health and safety management, fire safety, building safety, risk, and technical assurance
* Collating and analysing data and statistics, generating management information reports, identifying trends and potential issues for a range of measures, including:
o accident and incident data
o audit and inspection data
o fire safety data
o technical assurance data
* Monitoring the progress of actions raised during audits, inspections, incident investigations and other assessments and liaising with relevant members of the Health and Safety Team to ensure actions are closed and suitable evidence has been provided and is retained.
* Working with the Health and Safety Advisors to deliver the Health and Safety communication plan, including posting information and updates to the health, safety, and environment workplace page
* Administering meetings of the Group's Health and Safety Committee, Fire and Building Safety Steering Group and other working groups overseen by the Health and Safety Team, including scheduling the meetings, taking minutes, issuing actions, and monitoring the progress against those actions.
* Monitoring the health and safety email inbox and allocating emails and incidents reported via MySafe to the relevant member(s) of the Health and Safety Team Monitoring incidents received via MySafe and allocating them to the relevant member(s) of the Health and Safety Team
* Providing other support to the Health and Safety Team as required.
Candidate requirements
* IOSH qualification or willing to achieve a Health and safety related qualification - Willingness to develop a basic knowledge of health and safety management
* Experience of the effective management of health and safety, particularly (but not exclusively) in the housing or property management sectors.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications.
* Excellent administration skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail.
* Excellent planning and organising skills.
* Ability to collate and analyse statistics and produce reports
