Role: Deputy Head Teacher
School: Edan Court School, Huddersfield
Full Time: 40 Hours per week
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £48,617.63 - £54,527.39 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status
* Provide outstanding leadership and management.
* A well-grounded and inspirational individual with recent experience of middle management in a secondary school setting.
* Evidence of successful teaching experience with vulnerable children.
* Good interpersonal skills and emotional resilience in working with children.
* Up to date knowledge of Local Authority and National expectations for SEND including 2014 SEND Code of Practice including knowledge of EHCP and their implementation.
* Good awareness of and clear ability to safeguard children by developing appropriate relationships, personal boundaries and maintaining discipline.
* Confidence to review own performance and undertake continuous professional learning.
As a Deputy Head Teacher you will:
* Drive up standards of teaching and learning to ensure excellent outcomes for pupils.
* Develop and successfully implement whole school strategies to raise standards.
* Remain positive and enthusiastic including working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Be able to promote and safeguard the welfare of all the children within the care of our school.
* Have a passion for children’s learning and development, and a genuine respect of ‘childhood’ with a commitment to securing the best outcomes for children.
* Be a caring, people person who is approachable, empathic and who demonstrates commitment to the well-being of staff, as well as pupils.
* Contribute positively to policy and practice.
* Be a role model for our learning community.
* Make a significant contribution and impact in all aspects of school improvement.

Edan Court School is a brand new SEN school which will have capacity for 24 pupils with the school planned to open February 2025.
