The Position
Job Summary
You will be required to travel to sites in and around Cornwall (all within 10 miles of another), with occasional visits to sites in Devon and Dorset.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, working Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm (flexibility required).
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualification plus an annual performance-based bonus.

The job role
You will be working closely with Regional Category Managers and be the single point of contact for the Plant Managers of the designated sites, managing relationships and bringing in the correct stakeholders.
The main objective of this role is to ensure the effective purchasing operation of Imerys sites, covering the mining and refining sites in the Southwest.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Responsible for the Source to Contract process for local OpEx / CapEx purchases.
* UK Purchasing lead for measurement/instrumentation, small mobile plant, garage services and conveyor categories, and others.
* Responsible for the deployment and application of the global/regional contracts.
* Ensure compliance of the sites with purchasing strategy and with the internal rules and purchasing policy.
* Responsible for ensuring compliance with Sustainability and EHS goals for their remit.
* Responsible for all SAP (ERP system) approvals and controls (validation of suppliers, implementation/management contracts, PO authorisation).
* Reporting and analysis.

You will:
* Have a degree in a relevant discipline.
* Have a Level 6 CIPS or above (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or equivalent.
* Have proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial environment.
* Be a self-starter and confident decision maker; with the ability to work independently.
* Have strong analytical and project management skills with attention to detail.
* Have the ability to operate and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and challenging deadlines.
* Have effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Be proficient in MS Office software, Google Suite and SAP (ERP system).
* Have extensive experience in purchasing processes and technologies, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation techniques and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
* Contribute and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance purchasing processes and performance.
* Have experience in drafting, negotiating and managing supplier contracts.
* Legally be able to drive in the UK.
* Ideally, have some supervisory experience.
