Commercial Vehicle IVI and DI Systems Engineer

We are recruiting for a Commercial Vehicle IVI and DI Systems Engineer for our UK customer.
Objectives
Commodity Sourcing & Finance Status Management:
* Lead meetings with internal Finance, Cost Estimating, Commodity and Program Purchasing teams.
* Provide the engineering perspective in the supplier selection process.
* Prepare Engineering Statement of Work; the specifications/engineering concept, as input to the RFQ pack to support cost negotiations between Purchasing and Supplier.
Vehicle Development Program:
* Adhere to OEM product development process (GPDS) and related program timings & document deliverables.
* Lead Antenna sub-system development team (PMST), support other PMSTs and interfacing activities and represent in system level team meetings (PMTs).
* Support Program Reviews.
Requirements Management (Specification, Part Verification/Validation, Deviation):
* Ensure compliance to all applicable requirements.
* Support Global Core teams with initiatives from Benchmarking events.
* Agile software delivery of software collaborated with in-house/external supplier for IVI and DI parts.
Design (component development):
* Manage the Supplier for development of Antenna and/or associated interfaces and support the application into Vehicle Programs and ensure support for Program Launch.
* Develop new applications of implementation ready technology and liaise with Electrical Engineering & Climate Core team.
* Support other interfacing activities and programme activity teams, especially the Feasibility Checkpoint reviews.
* Support cross-functional team-working with Manufacturing, Supplier, affected PMTs, Brand and JV partners etc. to ensure all functional targets are met.
Electrical system interface / System specification / Functional integration / Diagnostics:
* Liaise with Styling and support Design Technical Operations.
* Support Craftsmanship/Vehicle Harmony/Appearance (fit/finish and NVH teams) reviews.
Assembly in next higher assembly and vehicle:
* Liaise and support Digital Pre-Assembly work streams and pre-Series builds.
* Drive issue resolution process via OEM issue management & tracking tools.
Releasing:
* Manage commodity within OEM releasing tools (FEDEBOM and WERS), including CAD progression, to ensure components are released in time for the program defined effective points.
Component manufacturing:
* Participate in supplier engagement process and support STA throughout the PPAP phases 0…3 and PSW declaration.
General / Engineering Sign Off:
* Provide sign-off of related components by managing DV/PVP and eFDVS according to sign-off plan.
* Provide/support Homologation and C/FMVSS documentation.
Change Management:
* Support/ Lead investigation of requested changes in terms of technical feasibility, cost and timing.
* Ensure appropriate change management (DCR tracking) and status reporting for requested changes.
Quality:
* Lead and coordinate the development of E/E sub-system FMA workstream (incl. SCCAF) with supplier and review actions.
* Ensure quality objectives and robustness targets are met and that lessons learned are encompassed in future designs.
Ongoing product development:
* Support PVT in issue resolution during series production.
* Lead OPD, Quality Improvement and Cost Reduction Programs (TVM), where appropriate.
Support program launch activities to meet program requirements (PPAP plans, AIMS resolution, part supply). This position may require occasional traveling to Supplier, development or Vehicle launch sites.
What you bring along:
Skills required:
* Competent in engineering tools such as CANalyser/Diagnostics/CaNoe/ADB/WinSCP.
* Competent using office applications such as Excel, Outlook, Project and Word.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to demonstrate use of initiative, perseverance and liaison skills.
Skills preferred:
* Proficient in Ford CAN tools/diagnostics debug tools (ETH/CAN).
Experience required:
* Excellent analytical and strategic skills.
* Project management skills with a thorough attention to detail.
* Strong communication and presentation and team skills.
* Experience of working within global teams.
* Strong IT skills (e.g. JIRA, Excel, Teamcenter, WERS).
* Full UK driving licence.
Experience preferred:
* Experience of using FEDE, WERS and Ford or similar systems is an advantage.
* Knowledge of Transit vehicle Electrical Systems and Components is an advantage.
Education required:
* Engineering Degree.
Education preferred:
* Electrical/Electronics/Computing Degree.
Additional information:
