Claxton is looking to hire a Hybrid Maintenance Technician on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facilities in Great Yarmouth, and offshore. The Hybrid Maintenance Technician is to carry out maintenance of CES Decommissioning rental equipment and work with fellow workshop techs to prepare equipment, and assist running projects offshore. You shall have a strong background in hydraulics and Diesel-powered units, be able to read and work to hydraulic schematics, make up tubing and be able to fault diagnose across various systems. You will help to continually improve the maintenance techniques for improved efficiency within the department and assist other departments when required ensuring all health and safety guidelines and Claxton procedures are being always followed.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Responsible for the building, refurbishment, servicing, repair and assisting to run offshore all decommissioning equipment including SWAT, SABRE, Hydraulic Power Units (HPU’S), Control panels, Tensioning systems, Hydraulic hammer equipment and thereafter any other Claxton equipment as required.
•To ensure that all activities are undertaken safely and to ensure that HSE legislation, company processes, policies and procedures are implemented and always followed.
•Input into preparation of generic written schemes of examination and generic maintenance/refurbishment procedures for various product lines.
•To perform any other assigned project work as allocated by the Workshop Supervisor.
•Inspection, maintenance, repair and testing of Claxton’s hydraulic equipment in accordance with procedures.
•To be part of the offshore team assisting to run the equipment and carry out any repairs or maintenance as required.
•Inspection and testing hydraulic controls/ components including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Integrity Tests (SIT’s)
•Carry out troubleshooting of failed equipment and quarantine items as appropriate.
•In conjunction with Decom Supervisor, develop detailed maintenance programs for existing key equipment.
•Create and update hydraulic circuit schematics as required.
•Ensure all required equipment certification is current and up to date, as per general operations manual and maintenance procedures liaising with QA.
•Where and when required, subject to demands of day-to-day business; assist with stripping down & redressing of various Claxton/Client tooling & equipment.
•Carry out pressure testing in line with Claxton Procedure.
•Be a team player in the upkeep of all workshop areas.
Requirements
•NVQ level 3 or good standard of education, GCSE or above
•HNC / D or Degree in Mechanical / Hydraulic engineering preferred
•Knowledge of oil and gas industry equipment and procedures
•Experience of hydraulic equipment and general inspection
•Ability to read and prepare Hydraulic schematics
•A working knowledge of Health & Safety, ISO9001, 14001, 45001 and QA procedures
•Minimum 5 years served as a Hydraulics Engineer / Mechanical Technician
•Experience of safety critical issues
•Installation knowledge of Cone and Thread fittings, and system flushing
•Excellent engineering aptitude
•Experience of using Word, Excel, Office 365
•Excellent trouble shooting abilities
•Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
•Self-Motivated and Driven
