Summary of the role:
As Planning Lead for WP2, support/manage the delivery of pre-Construction P6 Programme including constructability, as well as Construction phase preparation scheduling, across mechanical, EC&I and HVAC scopes. Also, the planning co-ordination and oversight of the multiple sub-work packs, Suppliers of equipment, and site sub-contractors for on-site construction activities. More generally, to ensure all work is conducted collaboratively, within established and agreed safety, quality, health, environmental, schedule and cost standards and measures.
Responsibilities:
* Develop standardised and structured P6 planning work packages, using AIMS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Client Procedures and referent knowledge.
* Develop project specific schedules that clearly identify the project processes and linking of activities as required for multifunctional project team interfaces.
* Iterate, with increasing detail, through the life of the Projects-up to, and including, Level 4 for offsite and onsite execution activities.
* Assist in the compilation and maintaining of Planning ‘norms’ from statistical data and be involved in the methodology to be applied in order to ensure that consistent and meaningful data is obtained.
* Develop the programme scope and schedule, ensuring alignment across the whole Mech, EC&I and HVAC team, and Partner Contractors. Develop Supplier scopes and Procurement requirements.
* Optimise the P6 programme including all interfaces with Suppliers, Client functions and other stakeholders. Provide regular feedback to Project Management and Functions.
* Manage the cost and resource loaded P6 Programme.
* Monitor the P6 programme across Work Packs activity and Interfaces, to ensure that pre-Construction and Project Execution tasks are achieved in line with agreed Client requirements.
* Highlight and manage Variations in a proactive manner, with the WP team, in a collaborative constructive manner.
* Proactively forecast, trend and analyse EPC and construction schedule activities using EVA techniques and other available data.
* Build, maintain and report accurate event profiles; e.g. cost, resource, schedule and other forecasts. Lead by example in collaborative management ethos.
* Always have a ‘best for project’ mentality. Work positively, progressively, closely and openly with the various stakeholders to build a one team philosophy.
* Follow the AIMS SOPs and training for what is acceptable practise and standards.
* Challenge any inappropriate behaviour.
* When differences of opinion occur, always disagree agreeably, and work toward an acceptable outcome.
Education & Qualifications
Essential:
* Time Served Apprentice / NVQ level 2 / C&G - and / or suitable experience in construction engineering
* HNC/HND (or equal) in an engineering or Project Management discipline.
* Proficient in the use of P6 and cost/resource loading scheduling techniques.
* Knowledge and application of construction methodologies across MEH scopes.
* Commercial awareness, e.g. experience in Variation and Claims management Strong presentation and communication skills.
* Good behavioural traits. Good People management skills.
* IT Skills, Planning and Project Management. People management.
* Able to achieve SC status readily.
* Minimum of 5 years senior planning lead experience, with direct reports and supplier oversight.
* CCNSG Safety Passport Training / IOSH Managing Safety Certificate (shortform)
Preferred:
* ECITB SMTDS / NVQ Level 3 or 4 ACE.
* Degree(or equal) in an engineering or Project Management discipline.
* APM/ACostE accreditation/ qualification or equivalent Engineering Institution
* Previous Nuclear Construction Senior Delivery Role(s).
* Currently SC in Civil Nuclear
* 5-10 years senior planning lead experience, with direct reports and supplier oversight
