Job Title: Permanent Primary Model Teacher for Alternative Provision
Location: Chadderton, OL9
Hours: Full Time - 5 days
About the school: Simply Education is currently working in partnership with an alternative provision based in Chadderton looking for a Primary Model Teacher. This new setting provides bespoke learning opportunities for young people aged 11-16 with additional needs who have previously experienced trauma or had a bad experience of school. The setting focuses on changing students’ mindset and giving them the tools to be successful in their future. The school has a gym, large industrial kitchen for food technology, Astroturf football pitch, a hair and beauty studio, and other great facilities for vocational studies. Students have academic studies in the mornings and vocational studies in the evening.
The role:
We are looking for a Teacher to deliver a primary model to students working at a lower level including functional skills. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality bespoke Maths, English, Science, PSHE, and other lessons to students in Y7 and Y8. The role will include delivering some creative art lessons in the afternoons several times a week.
Due to the nature of the role, QTS and prior experience teaching is essential. The ideal Teacher would be able to commit to a full-time role Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4pm as students receiving consistency is vital. Two wellbeing days per year are provided as well as having your birthday off each year paid too!
Key Responsibilities:
1. To deliver high-quality bespoke Maths, English, Science, PSHE, and other lessons to students in Y7 and Y8.
2. Support the students to become re-engaged with their learning.
3. Model and promote high behaviour expectations.
4. Communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them.
5. To prepare the students for life beyond school.
Key Requirements:
1. An understanding of working with disengaged students.
2. Knowledge and experience teaching a Primary model.
3. Resilience and the ability to model and promote high behaviour expectations.
4. Ability to inspire and motivate students.
5. Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
6. Driving license and access to own transport is essential.
