The Installed Base BU is in charge of Framatome's nuclear engineering and services for operating nuclear plants, for new build projects, and for installations in the decommissioning phase. With over 60 years of international experience across more than 380 reactors worldwide and a workforce of 4,600 employees in 15 countries, the Installed Base BU aims to deliver innovative products and services to guarantee a safe and competitive low-carbon energy source.
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018. EPR-E is responsible for the design and construction of nuclear islands for new projects, including the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and the Sizewell C (SZC) Project. As part of the Responsible Designer for the HPC project, EPR-E provides the design for various Nuclear Island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts through an integrated team.
We are currently looking to recruit for the role of Layout Team Lead. As a Layout Team Lead, you will be responsible for assisting with several of the below-listed activities depending on the job/project requirements:
* Managing a team of between 8 – 12 Layout Engineers.
* Coordinating the production of deliverables and/or rework in accordance with the schedule, cost, and quality as defined by the Building Manager.
* Supporting the tracking of delivery, ensuring the Scheduling Tool (Paladin) is up to date.
* Delegating and distributing topics/activities within the team, organizing the workload considering their competency, skills, capacity, and existing workload.
* Providing technical expertise to the team and interfaces.
* Ensuring technical accuracy and quality of deliverables through the application of the appropriate review and approval process.
* Ensuring that the team applies EPR-E Processes & Tools where applicable (UK-DC, IDT, NCR, WeCAD, etc.).
* Identifying and specifying the requirements of the relevant discipline scope and interfacing with other leads and/or external parties as appropriate.
* Leading the coordination with relevant counterparts in the UK, France, and Germany.
Profile
To be considered, we require the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
* Experience in the nuclear industry, preferably on HPC or SZC.
* Knowledge of Layout competency and of 3D modelling in PDMS and/or E3D.
* Knowledge and understanding of engineering design sequences and interfaces.
* Knowledge and understanding of general layout rules.
* Ability to manage multiple interfaces.
* Ability to work to and meet commitments and deadlines.
* Ability to manage own time and workload.
* Organizational skills.
* Communication & interpersonal skills.
* Leadership, autonomy, and proactiveness.
Desirable qualifications, experience, and skills:
* Knowledge of several areas of engineering (Piping, Electrical, HVAC, Equipment, Layout, Systems, Civil Engineering, Safety, etc.).
The post is restricted due to the nature of the role and the export control regulations which apply. All applicants will be subject to national security and export control vetting processes.
In return, we are offering a salary of between £61,000 and £71,000 plus benefits, including:
