Tanker Driver (6 Month Secondment/Fixed Term)

Join our Tankering Team on a 6 month/fixed term in the Inverurie area and you’ll help our teams make sure Scotland has a constant supply of safe, high-quality water.
What you’ll do
1. Support our commitments around protecting the environment by providing an essential waste transportation service from both Water and Wastewater treatment sites.
2. Carry out a private septic tank service to domestic and commercial customers, acting as ambassadors for Scottish Water.
3. Ensure all work complies with relevant Health and Safety Regulations, completing vehicle checks and inspections, and liaising with fleet on vehicle maintenance, repairs, servicing, and MOTs.
4. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Scottish Water policies and procedures relating to sludge transportation.
What you’ll bring
1. Strong communication skills and confidence working independently.
2. Ability to deliver work professionally, efficiently, and on time, optimising Tanker usage for Scottish Water.
3. Capability to plan and prioritise work while maintaining a flexible approach to accommodate changing priorities.
4. Build trust and credibility with customers, focusing on their needs and acting as an ambassador for Scottish Water.
5. Holder of a valid CPC card and valid Cat C license (ideally).

This role has some weekend working and standby requirements. You’ll receive 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays), with the option to buy five more days. You can also take time off to volunteer in your community.

The not-so-small print
This role will be a Grade 3 with a starting salary of £25,980, with performance-driven pay progression up to a maximum of £30,000.
