We have an exciting opportunity within our team for a skilled and dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work in the Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley areas of Kent. With the responsibility to provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions for adult patients living in the community with complex and complicated care needs, referred into the service. In addition, you'll provide advice, support and education for patients and their families/carers, voluntary agencies and all those working with the patient regarding their medical condition and how this affects the person’s lifestyle and environment in order to maintain relationships, roles and independence. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. To provide Occupational Therapy treatment within the community inpatient setting. To provide focused OT assessments, interventions and advice for patients and relatives, using evidence-based client-centred principles. To manage, supervise and develop junior therapists, rehab assistants, apprentices, and students. To promote the role of Occupational Therapy within the inter-professional team and ensure that good communication exists with all staff in HCRG care group and outside agencies. To maintain a high standard of care and clinical practice in Neurology through liaison with those working in the team and to maintain close working relationships with other Therapists and nursing staff to facilitate integrated and collaborative rehabilitation programmes. The Ideal Candidate As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will: Have a HCPC registration Have a BSc/Diploma in Occupational Therapy Have knowledge of relevant national guidance and other relevant initiatives Have the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams across health, social and voluntary sectors Have excellent communication skills Have motivation, adaptability and innovation skills Need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
