Regional Delivery is a large, complex, and geographically dispersed operation within the DIO covering circa 58,000 assets, across over 500 sites and 275,000 Ha of freehold and leasehold estate in the UK and a further 580,000 Ha overseas; with a multitude of multi-million contracts to manage. We deliver soft and hard facilities management services including building, maintaining, and servicing the majority of MODs built assets in the UK and overseas and managing the MODs training estate tenanted estate and USVF Built estate. The Business Support Manager sits within Regional Delivery and is accountable for the management and supervision of building custodian duties at DIO HQ Whittington, ensuring the building remains safe and secure for all inhabitants, along with managing a team responsible for diverse administrative duties. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and motivated team leader who is hardworking and proactive. The post is a key customer facing role and requires an ability to communicate well with a broad range of stakeholders. The job is challenging, varied and provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills whilst working collaboratively with DIO colleagues, Industry Partners, and customers. You will need to manage changing priorities on a daily basis and have the flexibility to turn your hand to different tasks as the situation demands. Person specification We are seeking someone with: Strong Leadership Skills Awareness of Building Custodianship Experience in Business Management and Administrative Tasking Proficient in IT systems particularly MS Office and SharePoint. Excellent Communication Skills with the ability to deal with Staff at all levels. An aptitude to manage conflicting priorities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensure the office building remains safe and secure for all occupants, by consulting with a range of stakeholders. Act as the focal point for all building services and ensure all infrastructure faults are reported and completed to requirements. Identify and report any health, safety and security issues to the relevant departments for resolve. Act as fire focal point for the building and maintain the evacuation procedures. First Aider Responsibilities. Management of Hub SharePoint page. Manage the Authorised Demanding Officers in the section to ensure transport requests are administered to Policy JSP800 and deadlines. Oversee the departments procurement activity and conduct EPC (Electronic Procurement Card) assurance checks. Lead with 2LOD (2nd Line of Defence) assurance activities. Site inventory holder. Management of post room and its associated processes. Dealing directly with customer queries by various communication methods. Supporting the Deputy Strategic Support Manager with a broad variety of business activities. Licences A valid UK driving licence is required. Travel to other sites in the region may be required and many of these cannot be reached by public transport.
