We are looking for an experienced cybersecurity professional with deep expertise in Security Assurance and Compliance to help shape and drive AWS's cybersecurity strategy in the UAE. This role will focus on enabling public sector and regulated industries to securely adopt cloud services while meeting national cybersecurity requirements and regulations.
This key position requires specialized experience in cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks, with particular emphasis on enabling regulated customers to meet their security and compliance requirements in the cloud. The position will have high visibility at the most senior levels of government agencies and institutions, including frequent interaction with the Regulators, CISOs, CTOs, their staffs, and AWS senior leadership.
As part of the AWS Compliance and Security Assurance team, you will act as the primary Security Assurance interface into the UAE for regulated sectors, foster key relationships with cybersecurity regulators, interpret the impacts of security policy changes, and track and report on industry cybersecurity trends.
Key job responsibilities:
1. The Security Assurance Country Lead will drive AWS's cybersecurity compliance strategy in the UAE, serving as the primary interface with the UAE Cyber Security Council and regulatory bodies. This role will provide strategic guidance on regulatory requirements and shape security and compliance frameworks for regulated workloads.
2. The position requires deep engagement with regulatory authorities on cybersecurity matters, interpreting and advising on national cybersecurity policies and regulations.
3. You will drive compliance with UAE Cyber Security regulatory requirements while managing comprehensive security assurance programs for regulated industries. A crucial aspect of the role involves enabling customers and partners, guiding them through security and compliance requirements for cloud adoption.
4. You will support public sector organizations in their cloud journey, enhance partner security capabilities, and drive security awareness and best practices across the ecosystem.
5. Success in this position requires strong stakeholder management skills, building and maintaining relationships with key government stakeholders while collaborating effectively with internal AWS teams on security initiatives.
6. You will engage with industry bodies on cybersecurity matters and provide regular updates to senior leadership on security and compliance status.
A day in the life:
You will interact with various levels across Amazon Web Services to manage the collection and communication of information. You will serve as the main point of contact and liaise with regulators. You will lead the strategic approach to the unique expectations of the regulator(s), report to Amazon leadership and manage the oversight of AWS’s UAE Region.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Cybersecurity, Technology Policy, or other related fields.
2. 10+ years of IT security audit, compliance and/or relevant regulatory experience; management experience of 5+ years.
3. 5+ years experience working directly with senior government officials and executives on security, compliance, technology, or related policy issues.

3. Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent communication with peers and non-technical stakeholders.
4. Experience managing projects through completion, across multiple areas of ownership, and delivering consistently on schedule.
5. Excellent leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
6. Travel may be required.
