About the job Job summary Are you a senior Estates professional ready for a new challenge? If so, Dstl is recruiting for a Head of Estates. The Dstl Estate presents some unique challenges, highly complex and high hazard infrastructure. As Head of Estates, you will lead and manage a team of functional specialists to deliver an estate that is fit for purpose, working, compliant safe with secure estates and facilities. You will manage specialists both in-house and outsourced service providers. This is a demanding role where you will work closely with Dstls Head of Operational Delivery, Head and Deputy Head of Establishment (HOE/DHOE) to ensure that the portfolio of demand is visible and effectively prioritised, building and implementing an Estates Strategy and long-term site plan. Job description You will build strong relationships with internal customers as well as external stakeholders in Ministry of Defence (MOD) and wider defence, local and central government. Providing a facilities as a service under a landlord-tenant model, you will work with the DHOE to allocate facilities, understanding the availability, condition and capability. Your new role is the Head of Profession for Dstl in Infrastructure and Property as defined in the pan-Defence Skills Framework and you will be responsible for engaging nationally at Senior Estate forums across government and internationally as required. Experience managing complex and substantial Facilities Management and Estates activities, Experience managing third party suppliers and budgets of >£25M. You should have higher membership of a relevant professional body. Sifting will take place on Thursday 6th February, the panel will be assessing estates and infrastructure asset management / Facilities Management and Leadership experience from your submitted CV, Personal Statement and Leadership Behavioural Statement. Candidates who are invited to interview will be required to complete a leadership assessment (expected to take place on/or 13th, 14th, 17th, 18th, 19th February) involving psychometrics and a leadership behaviours interview with an external partner. Interviews will take place on 25th February and will assess your Estates and infrastructure asset management / Facilities Management technical skills relevant to the Essential Criteria and behaviours.
