Job Overview This is a Fixed Term/Secondment vacancy until 21.12.25 If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application. We are looking for a Registered Nurse with experience and skills in managing patients with acute and chronic lung conditions. They need to be motivated, work to high standards and demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. They should be able to demonstrate they have initiative, can work independently within their scope and know when to seek guidance but also work collaboratively within the wider multidisciplinary team. This is a part time post for 15 hours. Main duties of the job The role will primarily be based within the acute hospital site with key duties including: assessing and supporting the treatment of patients with asthma, COPD, acute and domiciliary NIV. Ensuring key interventions are implemented in line with guidance to optimise patient care. Education and signposting to other services will be essential (smoking cessation, community teams, pulmonary rehabilitation). Being able to undertake key tasks such as inhaler assessments; oxygen assessments, blood gas sampling and spirometry will be central tot he role. Competency in the use of equipment such as, blood gas analysers, spirometers, ventilators and high flow oxygen devices will be desirable. They will to provide support and be a key resource for the wider staff groups managing patients with respiratory disorders. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Interviews to be held on 04/11/2024.
