NA1 Overview In this role as a key member of our Cloud Engineering team, you will analyse, design, build and evolve cloud infrastructure solutions and patterns to support T Rowe Price’s technology programmes. Your knowledge and experience will define the future of our evolving cloud adoption, applying your creativity to solve complex problems. This is a central role delivering to all aspects of the business in a team which is a centre of excellence for cloud technology. Our key focus areas are: Ensuring frictionless cloud deployments and maintenance Providing engineering and development capacity to Cloud Operations improving operational efficiencies Maximizing Cloud utilization and decrease costs by providing self-service, efficient-by-default capabilities Expected skills Possess deep knowledge of multiple cloud services Adept at troubleshooting issues in cloud infrastructure components Techniques for decomposing complex problems into discrete work units Ability to balance strategic and pragmatic concerns when solving problems Has comprehensive knowledge of core infrastructure capabilities: operating systems, networking, identity, and access Has comprehensive knowledge of tooling used to test and manage infrastructure components Ability to produce sustainable solutions which can be extended and refactored as needed Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a diverse range of audiences Responsibilities Maintaining an awareness and understanding of evolving cloud technology Guiding other technology teams in using cloud services effectively, securely and efficiently Producing and delivering training materials for cloud services to our technology teams Driving the evolution and modernisation of our cloud deployments Providing and maintaining shared, reusable cloud deployment code and configuration Ensuring solutions meet relevant security and resilience standards Participate in an in-hours support rota for the components we are responsible for Working effectively as part of a globally-distributed team (US east coast and UK) Qualifications and experience profile Typically has 5 years of relevant experience Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of experience and relevant qualifications Proven experience and knowledge of either AWS or Azure cloud platforms Knowledge of container runtime platforms such as AWS ECS, EKS or Azure AKS Experience with Hashicorp Terraform and HCL Software development and testing experience, including CI/CD Strong knowledge of modern security principles and technology, including authentication, authorization, policies and secrets management An understanding of what enables software to be maintainable and malleable Relevant cloud certifications a bonus Knowledge of Java and Groovy a bonus Experience of working in a regulated environment would be useful
