Job Title: Maths Teacher/Tutor– SEN School

Working Days: Monday to Thursday
Our client, a dedicated SEN school in Trowbridge, is seeking a passionate and adaptable Maths Teacher/Tutor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to support students with special educational needs, helping them develop confidence and essential numeracy skills in a nurturing and structured environment. QTS is not required, but experience working with SEN students and a strong background in mathematics education are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and accessible maths lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
* Use creative and adaptive teaching methods to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Work closely with support staff and SEN specialists to provide an inclusive learning experience.
* Foster a positive and encouraging classroom environment, building students’ confidence in maths.
* Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
* Contribute to individual learning plans (ILPs) and provide feedback on student development.
Person Specification:
* Strong knowledge of mathematics and experience in tutoring or teaching.
* Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties.
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students, helping them build self-confidence in maths.
