Note: Applicants must be full-time UK residents with the right to work in the UK at the time of application. This role requires frequent on-site work, so candidates must be based within commuting distance of our facility. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Hooper Quinn for an experienced Software Developer to join our dynamic and expanding team. This role represents a key part in our development of robust, high-performance software solutions, with a focus on code quality, security, and scalability.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, with a strong grasp of code hardening, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD). Additional experience in Infrastructure as Code and SecOps will be advantageous. The successful candidate will work across various technologies, including C/C++, Java/C#, Node.js, TypeScript, and Flutter, and leveraging CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms. We value developers who follow CLEAN, SOLID, and DRY coding principles and thrive in a fast-paced and agile environment that requires autonomous working within a wider collaborative approach.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop high-quality, maintainable software that adheres to CLEAN, SOLID, and DRY coding principles.
* Harden codebases to improve security, reliability, and performance.
* Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
* Write efficient, well-structured, and well-documented C, C++, Java, C#, Node.js, TypeScript, or Flutter code.
* Work with Jira, Git, and JUnit to track, manage, and test software development.
* Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless cloud integration and platform stability.
* Stay up to date with the latest best practices in software security (SecOps) and Infrastructure as Code.
* Participate in code reviews.
* Autonomously manage own tasks and record them on the company’s task management platform.
