This post is an important part of our ongoing development of medical services at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, offering the successful applicant the opportunity to work closely with the existing Radiologists to provide a high standard of care across the Trust. We are seeking consultants with enthusiasm, commitment, and drive to work closely with colleagues throughout the organisation and within the community to help lead the organisation.
The post has arisen as a consequence of an expansion in cardiothoracic imaging service. The Trust is looking to enhance both the cardiac and lung elements of its Cardiothoracic Imaging service. The successful candidates will join a team of 27 radiologists to help deliver Diagnostic Imaging Services to the Trust and local commissioners. The candidates are required to have a subspecialty interest in Cardiothoracic imaging and associated intervention.
Main duties of the job
* The workload of the successful candidate would be approximately that recommended by the Royal College of Radiologists.
* The Lister Hospital site is fully accredited for training with 8 Higher Trainees and 1 Clinical Fellow post.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Help deliver cardiothoracic CT in the trust. Help deliver imaging to support the national lung cancer pathway.
* Maintenance of high-quality patient-centered care.
* Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service and participation in strategic planning.
* Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service.
* Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity.
* Active participation in continuing medical education.
