We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT Workshop Technician / Junior Field Engineer to join our growing internal IT team. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing, repairing, and troubleshooting various IT equipment, including computers, laptops, printers, and networking devices. As an IT Workshop Technician / Junior Field Engineer you will provide onsite technical support, perform hardware repairs, and ensure the proper functioning of all IT-related equipment for our clients and internal staff. Brief Job Description Diagnose and repair computer hardware issues, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Install, configure, and upgrade software and operating systems on various devices. Troubleshoot network-related problems and assist in network hardware configuration. Conduct preventative maintenance checks to ensure devices are running efficiently. Perform data backups, restore operations, and data recovery as needed. Offer technical assistance to internal staff or clients for various IT problems. Assist with inventory management, including tracking and ordering spare parts. Maintain workshop equipment and ensure proper storage and handling of hardware. Perform system diagnostics and resolve performance issues for both hardware and software. Provide detailed reports on work completed and the status of ongoing repairs or installations. Minimum Qualifications Requirements for the role Proven experience as an IT technician or similar role. Strong understanding of computer hardware and software components. Experience with MS operating systems and software installation. Knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, routers, switches, and firewalls. Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware and network problems efficiently. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with IT inventory management systems. Experience with device imaging and deployment. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices. Driving Licence required as the role will include UK wide travel Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workloads. Previous Experience:1-3 years of experience in IT support, repair, or workshop environments. Salary £26,000 - £28,000
