This Assembly Technician assembles a variety of Pyroban components such as motors, alternators, lights, and battery enclosures. You will require a solid work history as a mechanical or electrical fitter, with the ability to read and understand drawings and wiring diagrams.
Working as part of a multi-skilled team, you will be responsible for:
1. Completing documentation and timesheets
2. Fulfilling planned production orders
3. Discussing assembly requirements with the Lead Technician
4. Identifying any parts or supply issues to ensure that production runs to time
Additional requirements include:
1. Participating in continuous improvement activities
2. Operating within the guidelines of the Company’s policies and procedures, ISO9001, and internal work instructions
3. Complying with the Company’s health and safety policy, procedures, and processes
4. Ensuring that all areas, plant, and equipment are kept in a clean and safe working condition
5. Keeping the general area tidy
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
1. Experience as a mechanical/electrical fitter
2. Knowledge of electrical packages
3. Basic numeracy and literacy skills
4. Basic IT skills
5. Ability to carry out the physical requirements of the role (lifting, bending, kneeling, stretching)
6. Proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic
7. Strong team ethic
8. Willingness to work overtime when required
Desirable:
1. Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or equivalent electrical/mechanical qualification/experience
2. Knowledge of engine mechanical packages (opportunity to learn available)
3. Awareness of quality assurance
4. Ability to problem solve
Working hours are Monday to Thursday (7:30 AM to 4:30 PM) and Friday (7:30 AM to 1:30 PM).
Holiday entitlement is 25 days plus the option to purchase up to another 10 per year.
