Job Opportunity: CNC Machinist
We are supporting an early-stage technology company in their search for an experienced CNC Machinist to join the team. The CNC Machinist will work closely with the Design & Development team to prototype new products and develop manufacturing processes. As the business grows, there will be scope to take over full responsibility for the machine shop and recruit a team.
This role suits an experienced machinist skilled in milling and turning. You should be a competent programmer and eager to enhance your skills with additional training in the latest technologies.
Role Details:
* Salary: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, with benefits including 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays), a salary sacrifice pension scheme, and company shares.
Key Duties:
1. Programming, setting, and operating 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC machinery (Conversational and G Code)
2. Leading safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
3. Performing first article inspections using metrology and inspection equipment
4. Reviewing and advising engineers on design feasibility for in-house machining; proposing design changes when necessary
5. Using manual mills, lathes, and other engineering equipment
6. Maintaining attention to detail to ensure accuracy and machine efficiency
7. Carrying out preventive maintenance on equipment
8. Pushing machining boundaries and maintaining technical excellence in the machine shop
9. Investigating additive and other emerging technologies to advance the business
10. Justifying investments in new machinery through business cases
11. Leading a team and owning the department's operations
