As a Commercial Planner, you will play a key role in driving market-leading availability across all channels and territories, ensuring customers can find what they need, when and where they choose to shop. You will own stock management within budget constraints, balancing availability and trade planning to optimise working capital while delivering commercial success. By leading forecasting and replenishment strategies, you will leverage data-driven insights to manage supplier performance, adapt to seasonality, and respond swiftly to retail trends—directly impacting sales and customer satisfaction. The Role Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management Responsible for forecasting all lines throughout their product lifecycle, consistently reviews performance and are responsible for creating the purchase orders. Provide analysis of risks and opportunities across departments. Support the commercial buying process with analytical information regarding stock and consumption. BBE management – Responsible for reviewing stock across all sales channels and warehouses. Driving action plans to manage short, dated inventory. Working with depot and Suppliers to ensure we have stock with sufficient shelf life to maintain availability in store. Ensure promotional trackers are updated and promotional availability is delivered to the required levels. Presenting departments performance in weekly internal meetings, working with Suppliers to align delivery time frames. Responsible for planning & purchasing accountability for the launch of new products and any distribution changes across continuity ranges. Attend weekly meetings and represent the department from a Supply Chain perspective to ensure decisions are aligned with the department KPIs. Purchase Order Management Responsible for maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure on time delivery of Purchase Orders through regular supplier meetings and phone calls Ensure all open orders are updated and reflect the correct data Manage the departments open orders and expedite orders where applicable to support sales and availability targets, whilst aligning to stock budgets. Work closely with our Goods In team to support expediting orders in line with department KPIs. Overdue open order reporting / failed deliveries, investigate the root cause, mitigate further impact by clear regular meetings with Suppliers and the Goods In team. React to all vendor delivery rejections and ensure Supplier remain compliant to our Supplier manual and action plan for non-compliance. Store Replenishment Responsible for running our store replenishment algorithm; ensuring our stores receive the right stock at the right time. Adjusting replenishment parameters to account for promotional activity, seasonality and sales trends to ensure availability of product in store through key trading periods. Instore Availability (ISA) – Target KPI 97%, ensure trackers are updated and details provided at line level. Concise comments with actions. Work closely with our Retail Operational Team to ensure feedback is investigated and actions are taken in a timely manner. Location: This role is based in Nuneaton, and may be occasionally required to travel to our London Hub or to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with minimum 2 days presence in the office. The Person Key Requirements: Commercial awareness with previous experience of sales and stock analysis. Be able to work under pressure and able to adapt quickly and effectively. Deal effectively with risk and ambiguity to stay focused on delivery of objectives. A fast learner who can adapt with change and demonstrates continuous learning. Consistently review performance, with strong confidence in being able to resolve complex business problems to ensure we are achieving our departmental KPIs. Experience in Supply Chain & Inventory planning. Be able to demonstrate strong numerical and analytical ability Detail-oriented with the ability to present findings at a top level, but aware of the detail behind. Team player and a strong ability to work independently. Build strong collaborative relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
