Your new company An exciting global convenience retail organisation, are looking to recruit an VAT assistant Manager to join their in house tax team at their head office in Blackburn on either a full time or part time basis. The company operates filling stations, convenience stores, and food service outlets throughout Europe and is based in the UK. It is a well-established, highly respected organisation who are looking to bring in someone experienced in VAT and management to help their fast paced group. Your new role As a VAT Assistant Manager in the tax team, you will report to the VAT Director and support the VAT Managers. Your responsibilities will include preparing and submitting VAT returns and EC Sales Lists (ECSLs) for specific territories, which involves collaborating with country finance teams to enhance processes and data accuracy. Additionally, you will provide ad-hoc support to the VAT Director on various non-compliance Indirect Tax matters. Key Accountabilities: Preparing and submitting VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat returns. Performing reconciliations and assisting in VAT audits. Building and maintaining relationships with key finance personnel across the business. Working with finance teams to improve processes. What you'll need to succeed VAT technical knowledge and experience of preparing and submitting VAT returns. Intermediate/advanced Excel skills Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities Accuracy and attention to detail Characteristics such as integrity, trust, professionalism, initiative, discretion, team work Tax technical qualifications, working knowledge of SAP and VAT reporting tools is desirable What you'll get in return Salary would be £45k - £50k Standard 10% bonus In office work, with the option to work from home once a week This role offers a diverse range of tax experience within a truly international and dynamic business, providing an excellent opportunity to enhance your tax knowledge.
