Cadent Gas Ltd Key Responsibilities We are looking to recruit two Business Strategy Specialists and are looking for one with an energy policy background and one with a business strategy background. As a Business Strategy Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality economic, financial, commercial, and regulatory analysis to influence and inform Cadent’s business strategy. Your insights will help shape the energy sector’s transition to low-carbon gases, including hydrogen, blending, and biomethane. Strategic Analysis & Insight: Deliver detailed and robust energy sector analysis to support the development of regulatory, commercial, and market frameworks for low-carbon gases. Industry Influence: Establish and maintain Cadent’s influential role in industry and Government consultations on policy, code, methodology, and legislative changes. Future Scenario Modelling: Develop scenarios and transitional arrangements to shape the future of the gas network and operating regime, collaborating with other energy networks. Policy & Consultation: Write high-quality, influential responses to Government consultations on policy items of interest, in collaboration with the Regulations function. Financial & Economic Modelling: Build and maintain complex financial, economic, and commercial models to test the impact of policy options, including incentives. Market Insights: Track and communicate wider European and global energy transition progress to inform business strategy and planning. Skills and Experience Qualifications: Degree level qualification or equivalent experience (essential). Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of UK energy markets and regulated networks. Proven experience in building and utilizing complex economic models. Effective presentation skills, able to simplify and communicate complex analysis. Industry & Policy Engagement: Experience in influencing Government policy and contributing to industry consultations. Stakeholder Management: Excellent skills in engaging and influencing internal and external stakeholders. Creative & Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop innovative solutions, future scenarios, and influential thought leadership material. Commercial Acumen: Strong business awareness and understanding of regulatory frameworks.
