·Act as a central point for all enquiries relating to bed management across children’s services
·Ensure that the child and family’s experience of hospital is as smooth as possible by facilitating patient flow throughout Children’s Services for both elective and emergency admissions.
·Ensure that emergency, elective and tertiary referrals are given equal consideration, working with clinicians to decide on priorities when beds are at a premium.
·Work closely with the Elective Access Team to ensure the best use is made of all available resources
·Ensure effective use of the beds across the Children’s Hospital, PICU, PHDU and the Neonatal Unit.
·Assist with discharge activity working closely with nursing and medical staff.
·Use the electronic whiteboard to maintain hr access targets.
·Provide direction to and support for clinical staff on a day to day basis in any matters relating to bed management repatriation and transportation
·To co-ordinate, on behalf the Directorate, private patient admissions with Clinical Colleagues/Teams, Elective Access Team and Trust Private Patient Team.
·To ensure the identification of overseas visitors and recovery of associated income.
