Behaviour Support Assistant needed in the Bolton area.

Role Overview:
1. Start September 2024, possibility for some intro work before Summer.
2. Full time & long term.
3. Hours are 8:30am-3:30pm
4. Temporary-to-permanent for the right person.
5. Great pay up to £100/day DOE.
6. Supporting secondary aged pupils in small groups with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).
7. Based at a secondary school in the Bolton area catering for young people aged 11-16 that struggle within mainstream settings and have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).
As a Behaviour Support Assistant at this SEMH school in the Bolton area you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning but also emotional and mental health needs. This secondary SEMH school specialises in catering for children who may face challenges related to social, emotional or mental health difficulties and vulnerable backgrounds. Your responsibilities will include:
8. Providing support on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
9. Assisting students with literacy, numeracy, and general subject knowledge
10. Supporting individuals with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties
11. Assisting those with mental health needs and anxiety
12. Provide holistic support based around social, emotional, behavioural, physical, mental & academic progress.
13. Collaborating with the SEN team, senior leaders, heads of departments, parents and carers, social workers, and other professionals in the child's multidisciplinary team
Requirements:
To succeed in this Behaviour Support Assistant role, you must:
14. Have the legal right to work in the UK.
15. Provide a CV with a full history.
16. Have a DBS on the Update Service (or be prepared to get a new one).
17. Min of two professional references.
18. Overseas Police Checks (if applicable).
19. Some experience supporting teenagers or young adults with challenging behaviour or mental health needs.
20. Candidates with experience as a Secondary Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, Sports Coach, Pastoral Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Youth Justice or other role within Alternative Provision could be ideal for this opportunity.
