We are currently recruiting for a Housing Solutions Officer, to be part of the Housing Solutions Team, a dynamic service with a vision of Preventing Homelessness.
As a Housing Solutions Officer, you will be an integral member of the team. You will be a key point of contact for service users and stakeholders, delivering the Council’s statutory obligations under the Housing Act 1996, Part VII Homelessness and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
Key Requirements:
1. GCSE Grade A-C English/Maths or equivalent
2. Willing to work towards or hold appropriate housing qualification or equivalent at Level 2
We are looking for a positive, adaptable and motivated person who wants to help move our service forward and is continually seeking to improve customer service.
The successful candidate will have:
1. A significant working knowledge of the Homelessness Legislation, particularly the 2002 Homelessness Act
2. Recent experience of working in a public sector service or housing-related environment
3. Recent and relevant experience of dealing directly with the members of the public and understanding customer care issues
4. Excellent organisational skills in terms of service planning, prioritising work, time management, effective use of resources and performance evaluation
5. The ability to articulate ideas to generate collective resolutions to problems
6. The ability to work under pressure, sometimes dealing with individuals or subject matters that can be emotive and demanding
7. Excellent written, verbal communication and numerical skills
