The Job
The role is a fixed term contract appointment to support zero carbon initiatives within PHS and with our clients.
The Net Zero Officer role is based in Hereford and is primarily Home Working with an anticipated 2 days per week in an office in central Hereford.
Reporting remotely to the PHS Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will provide support on carbon reducing energy efficiency scheme with day-to-day reporting to our Hereford based client.
Responsibilities include:
• Support officer to the Herefordshire delivery of the national retrofit programme the Home Upgrade Grant scheme (HUG)
• Assist in the monitoring of the programme
• Work with residents of Herefordshire to help them understand the Home Upgrade Grant and general energy efficiency works.
• Provide advice to householders on retrofit options for their homes, grant availability, and what would be involved from a practical perspective.
• Assist with eligibility checking and other documentation relating to the Home Upgrade Grant
• Undertake home visits and telephone support to vulnerable residents with implementing energy saving measures, pre and post installation
• Carry out evaluation and monitoring of visits and subsequent Reporting
• Analysing statistical data and resident feedback and collating information for the HUG scheme
• Identify total monetary and carbon savings from the Home Upgrade Grant and compile a report
• To prepare and present information and publicity material for a wide range of audiences
• Provide scheme legacy evaluation and effectiveness
• Liaise with PHS Head Office as well as Hereford based stakeholders and support agencies
• Collate learnings and outcomes to inform future funding applications
• Other activities as required by Management from time to time
You will work closely with a variety of Operational and technical staff as well as a number of external organisations so excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
You will need to be:

• Timeline driven
• Articulate and a good communicator (in person and written)
• Proficient in IT Skills, to include the Microsoft Office suite, Teams
Experience and Skills Requirements
Excellent Communication skills
Knowledge or interest in energy efficiency, energy efficiency retrofit measures and grants available to householders
Experience of data analysis and reporting
Experience of carrying out research,
Experience in accurate collection & interpretation of technical data & information
Strong academic requirement with GCSE Maths, English & Science or equivalent qualifications
Degree desirable
Valid UK driving licence (own vehicle required)
Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week - Mon to Fri: 09.00 to 17.00 [with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break per day]. Flexible arrangements may be considered.
Remote Working Support
Use of own car is essential and mileage incurred will be reimbursed.
Applicants must have fully functional Broadband & Internet to support home working.
