You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring these assets operate efficiently and reliably, contributing to sustainable energy production. This is a varied and hands-on position, where you’ll work both independently and collaboratively, tackling diagnostics, maintenance, and innovation in renewable energy technologies. As part of a supportive team, you’ll also provide guidance to apprentices and contractors. Although this is a flexible skill role, the primary skill required is Electrical or Mechanical Job Accountabilities Perform planned and reactive maintenance to optimise asset availability. Diagnose and resolve technical issues using a range of data sources. Collaborate with site operations to align power production with site needs. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety policies. Support innovation by implementing new technologies and solutions. Participate in a standby rota to respond to emergency situations. Knowledge And Skills An electrical or mechanical core skill. A time-served apprentice or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., HNC/ONC). Experience in power generation, including HV/LV systems, gas engines, and control systems. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with safe systems of work and statutory regulations.
