Join Our Dynamic and Inspirational Geography Faculty
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join our vibrant and busy Geography Faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong and in-depth knowledge of both Human and Physical Geography, as well as experience in organising and running fieldwork study trips and revision sessions. Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 Geography is essential, and experience at Key Stage 5 would be a welcome addition, though not a requirement. We also encourage Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to apply for this exciting opportunity.
While experience with the Edexcel GCSE Geography B and KS5 Edexcel A-Level Geography curriculum would be ideal, it is not a prerequisite for the role. We offer a knowledge-driven curriculum, and you will be responsible for writing and editing knowledge booklets, as well as creating accompanying lessons. Additional responsibilities include developing and editing assessment materials and mark schemes throughout the academic year.
You will be joining a highly supportive and collaborative team within the Geography Faculty, where we constantly review and refine our curriculum and teaching practices. We hold memberships with the Geographical Association, Royal Geographical Society, and the Geography Review journal, and we are always eager to enhance our subject knowledge. Staff are actively encouraged to attend Examiner’s CPD and take part in external professional development opportunities.
Our school provides excellent resources to support teaching and learning. All classrooms are equipped with large, touch-sensitive flat screens, traditional whiteboards, modern PCs with wide-screen monitors, visualisers, and fast broadband access. Staff also enjoy access to a well-equipped staffroom, which offers laptops and refreshments (hot and cold), providing a relaxing space away from the busy school environment. All staff receive a complimentary freshly prepared meal daily. Additionally, we have a fully equipped gym that staff are welcome to use, ample free parking, and convenient access via major roads, bus routes, and the nearby train station in central Ashford.
