About the role
The primary purpose of the role is the delivery of financial income from the multi-million pound Rebate and Contributions (R&Cs) Programme. Halfords operates complex R&C deals with its suppliers and is adopting the use of a modern dedicated Rebate Management software solution from a global software leader to administer, to help calculate and optimise R&C incomes and the associated legal contracts and documents.
The secondary purpose of the role is to support the buying team through the ongoing review of cost prices through changes in raw materials. Halfords uses a software solution to monitor changes in cost prices and this role will ensure all insight is maximised and opportunities regularly reviewed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the Commercial Team in the development and maintenance of the R&C Programme, identifying opportunities to optimise earnings and develop new earning streams.
2. Support wider cost reduction strategy and business plans in line with Halfords Group strategy, financial and ESG objectives.
3. Support the development and maintenance of appropriate value chain tools and processes, providing commercial insight as a key advisory role to the buying team.
4. Working cross-functionally, support the translation of moderate to complex business needs into required deliverables such as being the Go-To expert in exploiting the Rebate Management Software to support delivery of the R&C Programme deliverables.
5. Develop reports, dashboards, and other Analytics deliverables using Excel and other tools to meet commercial needs. Participate in maintaining and improving Analytics reports, development practices, standards, procedures and controls.
6. Proactively develop new Analytics solutions as necessary to meet the needs of a fast-moving Garage business.
Skills & Experience
1. Ability to bring insight to Management Information to create strong negotiation scenarios for the Buying teams.
2. Significant experience with design, implementation and management of Retrospective Rebate and Contribution programmes with GFR Suppliers.
3. Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
4. Ability to facilitate workshops and meetings to support in the training of others.
5. Reporting and analysis skills.
6. Able to add value and create credibility with the wider team.
