This role is mostly remote, with just one day a week in the office! The salary on offer is £27,000-£29,500 with some fantastic benefits. This role is an initial 6-month FTC with the potential to go permanent.
The role is located near High Wycombe, Bucks
What will I be doing in the Finance Assistant role?
Purchase Ledger:
* Enter invoices via OCR, verify coding, authorisation, and match to purchase orders.
* Reconcile supplier statements and prepare BACS payments for bank import.
* Monitor payment terms, ensure prompt payments and credit usage.
* Conduct supplier credit checks and process employee/volunteer expenses.
Purchase Orders:
* Assist with the purchase order system and resolve related queries.
* Train staff on raising purchase orders and match invoices to orders within tolerances.
Sales Ledger:
* Allocate client cash, raise credit notes/refunds, and chase overdue balances.
* Issue customer statements.
Audits:
* Support internal/external auditors with purchase and sales ledger data, documents, and analysis.
* Answer audit questions and provide requested details.
Filing:
* Maintain organised electronic files for easy audit and retrieval.
General:
* Manage Finance & Purchase Ledger inboxes.
* Provide team support and assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
What skills and experience are needed for the Finance Assistant role:
* Studying an AAT (desirable).
* Experience of maintaining purchase ledgers and sales ledgers
* Cashbook / bank reconciliation (desirable)
* Good PC skills including Word, Excel as well as IT packages relevant to the role
* Good level of numeracy skills
* Analytical thinking skills
* Resilience and customer focused
