This is a predominantly technical focused role, and involves all elements of Production management, whether for stand-alone Production only events, or Technical Production Management for MGN events that the entire team may be collaborating on. Key responsibilities Work in a project team at all phases of a project from pitch to delivery as the representative of the Production Department ensuring that the appropriate level of resources are provided and communicated to the teams. Attend client briefing calls and internal and client-facing project kick-off meetings. Discuss technical requirements of the events including researching the layout of proposed venues and advising on the best use of space and technology. On digital/hybrid projects you will be required to assess the scope of the client brief and work with Sales and Event Managers to identify appropriate platforms and how to best implement the required functionality whilst maximising client budgets. In conjunction with our other teams create functional specifications, equipment lists & diagrams that meet the client’s vision, needs and budget. Create and manage the production budget to include equipment, sub-hires, transport and crew. Keep on top of all project management, including understanding and communicating directly with the client & venue, issuing technical drawings, creating action plans and timelines, regularly briefing the team, managing and communicating schedules, managing health & safety compliance, trucking schedules and detailed content for crew packs. Work closely with and clearly brief the Technical Warehouse team on all kit requirements and lead regular project meetings with the events, design and production teams Manage supplier arrangements including negotiation of favourable terms and ensuring all quality and delivery standards are met Manage and oversee all aspects of on-site production including installation and de-rig of equipment, ensuring the highest possible quality standards, are met and delivery runs smoothly and to schedule Keep up to date with the latest technical innovations All other duties appropriate to the role Essential skills: At least two years of experience as a Production Manager Proven experience managing production budgets over £30k Valid drivers' license Proven background of working as a Production Manager within a live event, production or communication agency Confident in managing the full process from taking and interpreting briefs through to full delivery. Ability to work on several projects at any one time Desirable skills A strong technical understanding is required and experience of running virtual events would be an advantage. Good knowledge of Vmix Good knowledge of Current RMS Place and hours of work: MGN Events has a hybrid approach to working arrangements. This role involves time in the office, working from home and working on-site at venues for site meetings and events. Normal working hours are 9.00am-5.30pm, Monday-Friday with events taking place during the evening and at weekends.
