Job Title: Sales & Commercial Director Department: Sales & Commercial Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire Reports to: Managing Director Job Purpose: The Sales & Commercial Director will lead the sales and commercial operations at DATIM Ltd, ensuring sustainable revenue growth in the Doorsets and Ironmongery sector. This role involves overseeing key client relationships, developing pricing and commercial strategies, and driving market expansion while maintaining alignment with DATIM’s high-quality standards and reputation for delivering bespoke solutions. The ideal candidate will balance strategic planning with hands-on leadership to achieve business goals and elevate the company’s market position. Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership: Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth in Doorsets & Ironmongery, and related product lines. Set clear sales targets and KPIs for the team, ensuring consistent achievement or surpassing of goals. Lead and mentor the sales team to improve performance, develop talent, and foster a collaborative environment. Expand DATIM’s customer base by identifying new business opportunities within the construction market. Commercial Strategy: Establish and refine pricing models, contract terms, and bidding processes tailored to the Doorsets and Ironmongery industry. Collaborate with procurement and production teams to optimize cost efficiency while maintaining product quality. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to shape competitive commercial strategies. Oversee financial planning and budgeting for the sales and commercial departments. Client & Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with architects, contractors, developers, and other key stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing tailored solutions that meet project-specific requirements. Manage high-value accounts, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships. Represent DATIM Ltd at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to increase brand visibility. Operational Collaboration Work closely with the operations and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery, aligning sales commitments with operational capabilities. Collaborate with marketing to develop campaigns that promote DATIM’s Doorsets and Ironmongery solutions. Provide regular updates to the Managing Director on sales performance, pipeline status, and emerging opportunities. Risk Management: Negotiate contracts and manage commercial risks, ensuring all agreements are compliant with legal and regulatory standards. Proactively address potential challenges in supply chain, pricing, and delivery schedules. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; relevant professional qualifications are a plus. Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in sales and commercial management, ideally within construction, Doorsets, Ironmongery, or a related sector. Demonstrated success in managing key accounts and achieving revenue targets in a competitive market. Strong background in contract negotiation, pricing strategies, and business development. Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of the Doorsets, Ironmongery, and construction sectors, including market dynamics and client requirements. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing sales team. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Analytical and detail-oriented, with expertise in financial planning and forecasting. Proficiency in CRM systems and sales software, with a focus on improving customer and sales pipeline management. Results-driven, with a strategic mindset and the ability to balance short-term wins with long-term growth. Key Metrics of Success: Achievement of annual revenue and profitability targets.
