This is a Team Leader postion, our client is looking for approx 10+ years experienced electronics engineer -Based- onsite but flexible working offered.Role Purpose and Department PurposeThe Electronic Hardware Team Leader is an exceptional Engineer who demonstrates thecapabilities to lead, mentor and manager other team members. The Electronics Team Leadercan successfully manage conflict resolution between team members, has strong decision-making skills and acts with independence based on evidence coming from their direct reports.
The Electronic Hardware Team Leaders time is split between electronic engineering activities(at a senior level) and managing a team of engineers.The expected balance of the role between team leading and carrying out engineering tasks isexpected to be approximately 30/70 up to a maximum of 50/50.
The Role and Role Specific CompetenciesResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Lead a team of engineering, ranging from experts in analogue, digital and PCB designto apprentices or junior members of the team. Inspire, coach and lead direct reports to enable them to achieve individual andbusiness goals. Resource allocation - Understand who in their team is best placed to the achieve theproducts goals Team administration, including goal setting and performance reviews.
Technical Leadership Lead planning, architecture, development and validation of new hardware designs Apply risk / mitigation techniques at all stages of the development cycle. Mentor team members on technical matters to ensure they stay effective in their roles. Drive technical conversations on products and cross-engineering improvements. Investigate challenging and complex hardware issues, both in assistance to morejunior members and directly with other areas of the business The department is responsible for maintaining existing products and working closelywith the NPI department to ensure successful transition between the development andproduction phaseIndividual technical responsibilities You will design, develop, test and deliver high quality and reliability electronichardware. The scope of the role includes development of electronics hardware on a range ofsubsea instruments developed within the department from underwater acousticmodems, Doppler velocity logs to data loggers and much more.
